#Woezonh2f2020 Influencer Campaign
Often, when people think of planning a trip to West Africa, they seem to think of Ghana or Nigeria as they have little to no knowledge of the beauty of Togo and all that the country has to offer.
In February 2020, Kalyan Group invited a group of influencers from across the globe to experience the beauty of the hills of Kpalime, the villages, rural life, traditional arts and crafts of Togo.
The influencers stayed in the heart of Lomé, where lies the elegantly stunning Hotel 2 Février, a five-star iconic hotel with 320 vibrant and contemporary rooms, suites, exceptional meetings, conference facilities, and an outdoor swimming pool along with a fitness centre.
The hotel also has an exclusive collection of restaurants and bars offering mouth-watering cuisines and space to unwind over drinks. There is no doubt that business and leisure travellers alike will enjoy their stay.
On arrival at the iconic Hotel 2 Février, guests are welcomed by the exceptional hotel team with refreshments to cool down after their long travels, they are then checked-in and escorted to their rooms.
The selected influencers were granted an opportunity to explore Togo with a jam-packed activity plan provided by Kalyan Group. The activities ranged from fine dining, to clubbing, adventure hiking, swimming, visiting the plantation and checking out some of the cool places to visit when in Togo.
Once everyone was settled in their rooms, despite the long travel, the influencers decided to leave the hotel and visit Village D’Art, a small marketplace where you can watch local artisans work on their craft, carving sculptures and traditional cloth weaving.
On the way back to the hotel is the Gran Marche where everyone was already collecting a few items that they liked. The group got to the hotel and prepped for a fine dining experience at Songhai restaurant which specialises in Asian cusines.
On Saturday morning, the influencers were picked up by SUV’s at the hotel to enjoy an off-road journey to the village terrains of Kpalime to reach the Cascades of Vomé. Everyone convoyed to Kpalime, a two-hour fun experience where one gets to see and experience the culture and lifestyle of the Togolese. At the Cascade of Vomé, the group hiked down, dipped in for a swim, relaxed and were provided with some refreshing palm wine before heading to the next destination.
After this adventurous experience at the Cascades of Vomé, the group went to Kpalime Market for a real experience of an African local market.
Post visiting the African local market, the influencers were driven to the final stop of the day, which was the Kalyan Plantation where they were welcomed by the local chief who addressed the group and the lively locals graced everyone through song and dance.
The plantation is a home to many Togolese, and a seat of artisanal nut processing facility used to make oil for the natural cosmetics of Kalyan. Listening to the Founder of Kalyan Group, Mr Ashok Gupta, you realise just how much people matter more than sales or profit for the Group. He is passionate about improving and uplifting the lives of others. The plantation is a part of the 5000-ha plantation under development of which 200 ha Ananivikonji zone is the first site where the project started. Kalyan Group was glad to welcome these phenomenal influencers to the Kalyan Plantations, which epitomizes its’ efforts to give back to the society and build value chains through sustainable business practices
After an activity filled day, the group headed back to the hotel to enjoy some live cooking lessons where they got an opportunity to prepare local dishes and showcase their cooking skills. After cooking classes and enjoying their dinner, they headed to Aske Night Club which is also situated in the Hotel. With specially made cocktails and drinks, the influencers got to interact with some of the locals and guests at the hotel. One of the highlights at the club was learning how to Kizomba, another fun experience arranged by the hotel team.
The influencers woke up to delicious breakfast at Namiele before heading to Blue Turtle beach for the day. Blue Turtle consists of a man-made beach with 16 chalets and a three-story building waterfront site of 12.5 acres in the cul-de-sac of the capital. The building includes a French restaurant, a sushi restaurant, a winery, a cigar room, and on the top floor a Sky-Bar. Everyone enjoyed some drinks at their private cabana, took a couple of images, danced and had a relaxed day.
This was followed by the Woezon Party which marked a new era in the life of Hotel 2 Fevrier with the purpose to introduce a new positioning as West Africa’s new playground and Togo as the go-to destination in 2020.
The event was attended by honourable minister of Tourism and respectable guests across the globe dressed in their finest Afro-fusion attires. From décor to a wide selection of international and local cuisines placed under separate cabanas to give you the optimal experience, a 2 x 2,5 minute fireworks display, entertainment and live performances from the beautiful and talented Habida as well as King Mensah, there’s no doubt that the event was a success.
The hand-print ceremony symbolised the unity between this entity and the Togolese people.
For your next trip in Africa, there’s no better destination than Togo and the Hotel 2 Fevrier team would be more than delighted to host you.
